Kitty

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2, 2026

Kitty is a scorekeeper for card games played for money among friends. It is built so that Criers never holds a copy of your data at all: your session history lives in your own iCloud account, not on our servers. This page describes what Kitty stores, and where.

Kitty has no account system

There is no sign-up, no password, and no email or phone number collected by Kitty. Your identity is your device's existing iCloud account (your Apple ID), used transparently through Apple's CloudKit framework. Kitty never sees your Apple ID credentials.

What we store, and where

Kitty has no backend server of its own. CloudKit, Apple's infrastructure, is the entire backend. Specifically:

What we never collect

Who can see what

A room or session's data is visible only to the people it's been shared with: the players actually invited into it, whether by username, a share link, a QR code, or a typed join code. There is no public leaderboard, no directory of games, and no way to see another group's data.

Selling data & ads

We never sell your data, and Kitty has no advertising of any kind. Since Criers never holds a copy of your data in the first place, there is nothing for us to sell.

Deleting your data

You can delete your data at any time from Profile → Delete My Data. This permanently removes every Game Room and session you created, and your claimed username, from CloudKit. Rooms or sessions someone else created are theirs to delete. Since Kitty has no central server, there is no way for us to reach into another person's private iCloud storage on your behalf.

Where your data lives

Entirely on Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, under your own iCloud account. Kitty (and Criers) never operates a server that stores or has access to your session data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect.
