Donut

Terms of Use

Last updated September 15, 2026

By using Donut, you agree to these terms.

What Donut is

Donut is an intermittent fasting timer for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It tracks the fasting and eating windows you choose, shows related Apple Health information during a fast, and awards collectible donut flavors for fasts you complete.

Not medical advice

Donut is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Fasting, especially extended or multi-day fasting, is not appropriate for everyone. Talk to a doctor before starting an extended fast, and always before fasting if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, have diabetes or another condition affecting blood sugar, or take medication that assumes regular food intake. Donut will always let you start a fast of any length you choose; it never gates that decision, the choice and the responsibility for it are yours.

Your account and identity

Donut has no account system of its own. Your identity is your device's existing iCloud account. You're responsible for what happens on your device while signed into your iCloud account.

Apple Health

Donut reads and writes Apple Health data only with the permissions you grant through iOS's own permission prompts. You can review or revoke them at any time in Settings.

Friends

If you add a friend, you're responsible for having their consent to connect and share your fasting activity with them. Don't use the username directory to impersonate someone else or to contact people who haven't agreed to connect with you.

No tolerance for objectionable content or abuse

Usernames, and anything you send through Donut, must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening, or harassing. You can report any user from the Friends tab or by emailing hello@criers.net, and you can block anyone at any time. We review reports within 24 hours and remove offending usernames and accounts from the username directory.

What you agree not to do

donut+ subscriptions

donut+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds features on top of Donut, which stays free to use. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings, or from Settings in Donut. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of it ends when you purchase a subscription.

Your content

Your fasting history, weigh-ins, mood entries, and Donut Box are yours. Your weigh-ins, mood entries, and profile stay on your device, and your fasting history and Donut Box are stored in your own iCloud account, not on a Criers-run server, so we have no independent copy of them to license or use.

Deleting your data

You can delete your data at any time from Settings, Delete all data. See the Privacy Policy for what this does and doesn't remove.

The service, as it is

Donut is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it reliable, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and since it relies on Apple's iCloud, CloudKit, and HealthKit infrastructure, its availability is also subject to Apple's own services being up. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us to use Donut.

Apple's standard terms

Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of Donut. Apple is not responsible for Donut or its content.

Changes to these terms

If we make meaningful changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Donut after that means you accept the updated terms.
